Meeting Ursula and Amelia
Today Duane, Yawer and myself went to meet with a young lady called Ursula at her home in East Acton. Ursula is a 21 year-old Media student who suffers from Sickle Cell. During the interview she opened up about her battle with sickle cell and how it has affected her life, including her education. The shoot went well as she was welcoming and she felt easy to talk to me about her battle with Sickle Cell. She was babysitting that day so we also have her little cousin Xvia looking cute in the documentary!
After the shoot myself, Yawer and Duane went for lunch as we waited for my next interviewee Amelia to be available. Once Amelia became available we went to meet her at her home in White City. Amelia is a 20 year-old mother of two and beautician student. Her youngest daughter Anayah who is one year old suffers from Sickle Cell Anaemia. Amelia expresses her experience of having a daughter with Sickle Cell, the emotional interview explores the challenges from when she was pregnant to current time. Also the challenges Anayah faces as a baby suffering from Sickle Cell.
